A Moon Circle can mean many things to many people depending on their influences. For our circles, I draw from my studying the Ancient Medicine Wheel of the Incan Tribe, The Wild Woman Project, and circles facilitated by other Sisters. As the leader of the circle, my role is to hold a safe space to tap into our inner wisdom. In this space with gathers shoulder to shoulder in sisterhood to honor the wild spirit of the moon phases, magic, and her influence on the female archetype. I bring inspiration for these circles from my time with The Wild Woman Project and my studies of the Peruvian Ancient Medicine Wheel with Dr. Irene Siegal.
There are many different ways Sisters run their circles. If you have the opportunity you should definitely try different circles. Below you will see the flow that gives a framework for gentle structure and space for all Sisters to share. There is always space to adjust for the needs of each circle. This flow is thoughtfully designed to allow space to connect to our higher wisdom. My favorite part of the circle is seeing Sisters show ownership of this experience such as being in charge of the cleansing singing bowl or reading the initial invocation poem.
The flow of In-Person:
● Welcome to the space (head to welcome table for refreshments & a small gift)
● Find sacred space in the circle
● Get comfortable & settled
● Introductions
● The Invocation poem & lighting of a candle.
● A brief intro to our theme & info about the current moon phase
● Quiet journaling re: inquiry for intention setting
● Gentle MOVEMENT (this might be intuitive movement, stretches, etc) led by our host
Shelby
● A Reiki guided meditation led by Michelle
● Sharing experiences
● Closing with sending our intentions to Spirit & blowing out the candle
● (any of this may be modified for time purposes)
The flow of virtual:
● Welcoming
● The Invocation & lighting of candle.
● A brief Introduction to our theme.
● A quiet journal moment to set intentions.
● A Creative Visualization & calling the elements (earth, fire, air, water).
● Sharing experiences
● An evocative question to support manifesting the intentions.
● We will close the way we close every ever New Moon Circle: With a blessing to
ourselves and our sisters.
● Closing with a deep breath & blowing out the candle.
● (any of this may be modified for time purposes)
For In- Person Circles
● Be prompt :). For the sanctity of the sacred space, please arrive at 6:45p. There will be no admissions after 7p.
● What to bring for your comfort/exploration (ie whatever makes you feel empowered, special adornments like crowns, etc)
● Journal & something to write with (maybe markers if you’re feeling sassy)
● Blanket or layers (we will have chairs)
● 1-2 of your favorite trinkets for energetic charging on our altar
● For cleansing items like Palo Santo or oils, Shelby and I will have those items.
● Open heart and mind
For virtual sessions on Zoom:
● Give yourself time. Sign on to the zoom link you will be given to give yourself 10-15 before the call so that you can troubleshoot any technological issues (we all have them).
● Be on time. To maintain the sacred space we are not able to admit Sisters who are later than 7:03p
● Find a private, cozy space. This will be an area where you can really unfold, listen & share, fully in this sacred space. This should be a space without distractions from other beings (animals do not count… we love having them in circle if they’re not too much of a distraction)
● Get in the zone. Gather the below items and set up your space in a way that feels good for you.
● What to bring (it’s ok if you do not have them too).
○ Have a candle
○ journal & something to write with (maybe markers if you’re feeling
sassy)
○ something to cleanse the space which could be sprays, oils, or
herbs to burn. (I will have palo santo to cleanse for us, so no
worries if you do not have access to this).
○ Bring something to burn to send our intention to the guides.
○ Open heart and mind
